Families looking for a Dalat family house with two bedrooms, a kitchen and a fireplace tend to need three things: parents and children in separate beds, somewhere to cook for the kids, and a clear answer on what happens if a child falls ill before the trip. This house handles the first two; the third we spell out below. ## Beds, kitchen and bathroom Bedroom one has a 1.8 x 2.0 m king bed. Bedroom two has two 1.2 m singles. The small kitchen has an induction hob, pots, plates, a kettle and a fridge: enough for children’s breakfast or a pot of soup in the evening. Hot-water bathroom. ## The stove and cold nights The wood stove sits behind glass in the living room. Vinh lights it from 18:00 to 22:00 with one basket of wood a night, included in the rate. Guests do not light it or add wood. It heats the living room, not the bedrooms; those are kept warm by electric blankets, which Lan warms before you get back. December and January nights can drop to 10°C to 12°C. The stove glass gets hot while the fire is going, so with small children an adult sits between the child and the stove. ## From the gate to the house 46 stone steps from the gate to the lounge, then 16 through the garden to the door: 62 in all. Vinh carries the bags; a pushchair has to be folded and carried. ## Kim Chi’s family at Tết Kim Chi’s family from Hà Nội (two parents, children aged 10 and 6) booked the Garden House for Tết (Lunar New Year) 2027, the Year of the Goat: Thursday 4 February to Monday 8 February 2027, four Tết nights. Rooms: 5,310,000 VND x 4 = 21,240,000 VND; two children aged 6 to 11: 2 x 200,000 VND x 4 nights = 1,600,000 VND; total 22,840,000 VND. The 50% deposit was 11,420,000 VND, and the other 11,420,000 VND was due by 21 January 2027\. What decided it for her: we told her upfront that the Tết deposit is not refunded but the dates can be moved once. On 4 October 2026 the official Tết 2027 holiday was still a proposal; when the decision is published we will adjust the Tết rate window and this example. _An illustrative story for a demo site; figures are made up._ ## Worth knowing - Four guests maximum, counting children from age 6\. Or cook for everyone in the small kitchen. 2. **14:00**Check-in. Vinh carries the luggage up 46 steps to the lounge, then 16 through the garden to your door. 3. **18:00**Vinh lights the wood stove in the living room, one basket of wood for the night. Dinner round the kitchen table, children seated away from the stove. 4. **22:00**No more wood after this; the fire dies down. Both bedrooms have electric blankets. No. It is in the living room and mainly warms that space. The bedrooms are kept warm by electric blankets. Vinh lights the stove from 18:00 to 22:00. ### Can we bring our dog? Yes, if it weighs under 10 kg. The Garden House is the only place we take pets, with a 150,000 VND cleaning fee per stay. Mention it when you book. ### What do four adults pay? The rate covers breakfast for two. The third and fourth adult are 350,000 VND each a night, with breakfast. Children 6 to 11 are 200,000 VND a night; under 6 sleep free on an existing bed, one per room. ### How do deposits work at Tết? Any stay with a Tết (Lunar New Year) night is 3 nights minimum, with a 50% deposit and the balance 14 days before arrival.
