What the window faces

> The balcony door on the first floor opens onto a 5 m² balcony facing the pine slope behind the house. You look across into the treetops, not down over the valley.

Twin Pine (Thông Đôi) is our twin room: 22 m² on the first floor with a 5 m² balcony looking at the pine hill. If you searched for a Dalat homestay twin room with a balcony because two of you are travelling together and would rather not share a duvet, this is the room. We usually give it to friends on a weekend away, sisters, or a parent travelling with an adult son or daughter.

## Beds and bathroom

Two single beds, each 1.2 x 2.0 m, which is wider than most singles. They can be pushed together into a 2.4 x 2.0 m sleeping area. To be clear about it: it is still two mattresses with a seam down the middle. If you are a couple who want one continuous mattress, a king room will suit you better. If you do want them together, say so when booking and Lan will have it ready. Private bathroom with hot water.

## Cold nights

No stove in Twin Pine. Each bed has its own electric blanket, so one of you can sleep warm and the other cool. Lan warms the bedding before you arrive. December and January nights in Đà Lạt can drop to 10°C to 12°C, which is colder than most people pack for if they live in Ho Chi Minh City. Shut the balcony door before bed.

In the evening Vinh lights the wood stove in the lounge, 18:00 to 22:00\. It heats the lounge, not the rooms upstairs. The lounge is 18 steps down from your door.

## From the gate to the room

Cars reach the gate. From the gate to the lounge is 46 stone steps, then 18 more up to the first floor: 64 steps in all. Vinh carries the bags. There is no lift.

## Worth knowing

- The balcony looks across at the pine slope, not down over the valley. For the valley, see the [Cloud Loft](/en/rooms/cloud-loft).
- Mist on the pines comes some mornings and not others. Đà Lạt sees fog roughly 80 to 85 days a year, mostly in September and October; we will not tell you it is there every day.
- Two guests maximum, no extra bed. Travelling alone and want fewer stairs? See [Little Pine](/en/rooms/little-pine).

## Rates

Twin Pine is 1,050,000 VND a night midweek (Sunday to Thursday nights, regular season) and 1,310,000 VND on Friday and Saturday nights, with VAT, service and breakfast for two included. Stays that include a Saturday night are two nights minimum. Rates for low season, peak, holidays and Tết (Lunar New Year) are on the [rates page](/en/rates). Choose dates on the [Twin Pine booking page](/en/book?phong=thong-doi); the request holds the room until Ngân confirms by phone or Zalo the same day. All eight rooms: </en/rooms>.

## A day in the room

1. **06:30**Step out onto the balcony. Some mornings mist still sits on the pine hill, some mornings it does not; it depends on the day.
2. **07:30**Breakfast in the lounge, 18 steps down: the hot dish of the day, bánh mì, fruit, filter coffee and artichoke tea, until 09:30.
3. **18:00**Vinh lights the wood stove in the lounge, until 22:00\. The room has no stove; Lan has the electric blankets on for both beds.
4. **22:00**Quiet hours until 07:00\. Close the balcony door before you sleep; December nights can drop to 10°C to 12°C.

## Who it suits

- Two friends, two sisters, or a parent with a grown-up child who want separate beds.
- A couple who sleep better in their own beds but still want a balcony on the pines.
- Early risers with a camera.

### Pick another room if

- A couple who want one big mattress: Fireside or Sun Porch have 1.8 x 2.0 m king beds.
- Three people: the room sleeps two.
- Anyone set on a fire in the room: see Fireside, the Mist Suite or the Garden House.
- Electric blankets on both beds
- Hot-water bathroom
