One wooden house on a slope, opened up into eight rooms
Nhà Sương opened in 2022 from Tuệ’s family house off Hoàng Hoa Thám. Why eight rooms, why public rates, and what we choose not to do.
Updated 6 Oct 2026

Nhà Sương (“the mist house”) is the timber house that belonged to Trương Minh Tuệ’s family, on a pine slope at Alley 77, Hoàng Hoa Thám street, in Đà Lạt’s Xuân Hương ward. In 2022 Tuệ divided it into eight guest rooms. Four people run it, and the price of every night is published.
We wrote this page and we sell the rooms, so read it, then compare.
A wooden house on a slope
It is 46 stone steps from the gate to the lounge. Tuệ counted them himself, and the number appears wherever the site mentions the path. The lounge has a wood stove and is open 07:00 to 22:00; breakfast is served there from 07:30 to 09:30. Next to it is a 24 m² shared kitchen, open 07:00 to 21:30. Behind the house there is a pine garden with a grill yard.
The eight rooms are 18 m² to 52 m² and sleep two to four. Three have a wood stove behind glass: Lò Sưởi (Fireside), Phòng Sương (Mist Suite) and Nhà Vườn (Garden House). Two have their own kitchen: Bếp Nhỏ (Kitchen Room) and Nhà Vườn. Each room page has a line saying what the window faces, because the window is why most people find us. Every room includes breakfast for two.
Why eight rooms
Eight is how many rooms the house divides into while every room keeps its own window onto the garden, the hill or the valley. It is also what four people can look after properly: one cooks breakfast and keeps the rooms, one lights the stoves in three rooms and the lounge, one answers messages, one meets you at the gate.
The four of us
- Tuệ grew up in Đà Lạt and guided visitors for 12 years before opening the house. He meets guests at the gate and writes most of the local guide.
- Lan keeps the rooms and the breakfast kitchen. She washes and warms the blankets before guests arrive, cooks a different hot dish every morning, and makes strawberry jam in the season.
- Vinh lights the wood stoves from 18:00, repairs the timber house, and drives the airport and cloud-hunting runs. He tells you when the lane is too wet for a car.
- Ngân joined in 2023. She answers phone, Zalo and email in English and Vietnamese, quotes free rooms and deposits, and handles the stay registration.
Who does what, and when, is on the team page.
Why every rate is public
People booking in Đà Lạt tend to worry about three things: a room that does not match its photo, a price that grows at the last step, and a cold night under one thin blanket. In 12 years of guiding, Tuệ lost count of how often he heard “what does Saturday night cost?”. So the house publishes the rate of every night, for every room, in every season, on the rates page.
The rule is published too. Start from the regular-season midweek rate, multiply by the season factor (low 0.85, regular 1.00, peak 1.30, holiday 1.50, Tết 1.80), add 25% for Friday and Saturday nights outside holidays and Tết, and round to the nearest 10,000 VND. Rates include VAT, service charge and breakfast for two. The Fireside room, for example, is 1,550,000 VND on a regular-season night from Sunday to Thursday and 1,940,000 VND on Friday and Saturday nights.
Deposits and cancelling are on the booking policy; the booking page adds up the total and deposit for your dates.
What we don’t do
- We don’t promise mist or clouds. That depends on the morning. We only tell you which rooms face the valley.
- We don’t add anything at the last step. The figure on the page is what you pay, plus any extras you choose.
- There is no lift and no step-free route. The rooms with the fewest steps are Thông Nhỏ (Little Pine) and Bếp Nhỏ, 12 steps from the lounge. Gác Mây (Cloud Loft) has a steep 11-step stair up to the bed.
- Guests don’t light the stoves. Vinh does, from 18:00 to 22:00. A stove heats its room, not the house.
- Nobody is at the desk after 22:00. If you will be late, message Ngân and Vinh will open the gate.
- We don’t take more guests than a room page says, and pets only in the Garden House.
- We don’t write “close to the centre” without measuring it on a map, and we don’t hold card numbers.
Colours, type and how we photograph the house are on the brand page. The eight rooms are on the rooms page.
