What the window faces
The end wall of the house is a glass gable on the second floor, facing the valley. The loft bed sits right behind it, so the first thing you see in the morning is sky and valley.
The Cloud Loft (Gác Mây) is our loft room on the second floor: 24 m², with the bed up on a loft right behind a glass gable, and a sitting area and sofa bed underneath. If you were searching for a Dalat loft room with a glass roof and a valley view, this is the closest thing we have, with two corrections up front. The glass is the gable (the end wall), not the roof. And the stair to the loft is steep: 11 steps.
Beds and bathroom
A queen bed on the loft, directly behind the glass. Below it, a 1.2 m sofa bed for a third person. The private hot-water bathroom is on the lower level of the room, so getting up at night means coming down the loft stair.
Cold nights
There is no stove in the Cloud Loft. Both the loft bed and the sofa bed have electric blankets, which Lan warms before you come in. December and January nights in Đà Lạt can fall to 10°C to 12°C. The shared wood stove in the lounge is lit by Vinh from 18:00 to 22:00; it warms the lounge, not the second floor.
From the gate to the room
46 stone steps from the gate to the lounge, then 26 more up to the second-floor door: 72 in all. Inside, another 11 up to the bed. Vinh carries your bags to the door. No lift. Vinh wrote a whole guide on hillside homestays, slopes and stairs, including who should choose somewhere else.
A five-night stay
Hannah, a Swedish remote worker based in Ho Chi Minh City, booked the Cloud Loft for five weeknights, Sunday 12 April to Friday 17 April 2026. Before booking she asked about the stair, the deposit and what she would need for registration. She worked at the big lounge table from 08:00 and cooked dinner in the shared kitchen (open 07:00 to 21:30). Rooms: 1,350,000 VND x 5 nights = 6,750,000 VND, less 10% for five nights or more = 6,075,000 VND. The 30% deposit was 1,823,000 VND, with 4,252,000 VND paid on arrival. Her words: “I knew the stairs, the deposit and the passport step before I booked. That is why I booked.”

Worth knowing
- Not for anyone with knee or balance problems, or small children climbing alone. For fewer steps, see Little Pine or the Kitchen Room.
- Early light comes in through the glass. Late sleepers should bring an eye mask.
- Mist in the valley is not a daily event; it is most frequent in September and October.
- Please read the house rules before you arrive.

About this room
How steep is the loft stair?
11 steps, noticeably steeper than a normal staircase. That is why we say the room does not suit guests with knee or balance problems. A trip to the bathroom at night means going down it.
What does a third guest cost?
A third adult is 350,000 VND a night, including the sofa bed and breakfast. Children 6 to 11 are 200,000 VND a night. Under 6 sleep free on an existing bed, one per room, breakfast not included.
Is there a discount for a long stay?
Yes: five or more consecutive nights in low or regular season get 10% off every night. It does not combine with peak, holiday or Tết nights.
What paperwork do foreign guests need?
A passport for each guest at check-in. The house registers your stay through the official channel required by the residence law; Ngân handles it at the desk.
