Little Pine: a double bed in white linen pushed up to a large uncurtained window that looks straight onto tall pine trunks in the garden

What the window faces

A ground-floor window straight onto the pine garden in front of the house: trunks and branches close up. The room sits low, so you do not see across the valley as you do from the upper rooms.

Little Pine (Thông Nhỏ) is the smallest double room at Nhà Sương: 18 m², one bed, one window on the pine garden, on the ground floor beside the lounge. If you are after a Dalat homestay double room with a garden view, breakfast included and not many stairs, this is the room we point to first. It works for a couple or someone travelling alone who will be out during the day and back by the stove in the evening.

Bed and bathroom

A queen bed, 1.6 x 2.0 m. Two adults fit, but it is narrower than the 1.8 m king beds in Fireside, Sun Porch or the Mist Suite. Private bathroom with hot water. At 18 m² storage is tight: open two large suitcases on the floor and the walkway is gone, so soft bags are easier.

Cold nights

There is no stove in this room. The bed has an electric blanket, and Lan washes and warms the bedding before you arrive. December and January nights in Đà Lạt can drop to 10°C to 12°C, which surprises people driving up from Ho Chi Minh City. So, plainly: this room is warm because of the blanket, not a fire.

The shared wood stove is in the lounge, 12 steps from your door. Vinh lights it from 18:00 to 22:00. It heats the lounge, not the rooms around it. What most guests do: sit by the fire until they are sleepy, then go to a bed that is already warm.

From the gate to the room

Cars up to seven seats can reach the gate through the alley. From the gate to the lounge is 46 stone steps, then 12 more to the door: 58 in all, the lowest count in the house (the Kitchen Room is the same). Vinh carries the luggage. There is no lift. We write about hills and stairs openly; our pine-view guide explains how to read a listing for these things.

Worth knowing

  • The room is beside the lounge, which is open 07:00 to 22:00. You will hear people talking by the stove in the evening. Quiet hours run 22:00 to 07:00.
  • The window faces trees close by, not the valley. If the view across the valley matters most, look at the Cloud Loft or the Mist Suite.
  • Two guests maximum, no extra bed. For separate beds, see Twin Pine.

About this room

Does Little Pine have its own fireplace?

No. The bed has an electric blanket, warmed before you come in. The shared wood stove is in the lounge, 12 steps from your door, lit by Vinh from 18:00 to 22:00.

What do I need for check-in as a foreign guest?

Your passport. Every guest shows an ID card or passport at check-in and the house registers the stay through the official channel required by Vietnam's residence law. Ngân handles it at the desk.

Can we have two separate beds?

Not here: Little Pine has one queen. The Twin Pine room has two 1.2 x 2.0 m singles that can be pushed together.
