What the window faces

Fireside (Lò Sưởi) is a 26 m² first-floor room with a wood stove behind glass, a king bed and a seat built into the window over the pine valley. People looking for a Dalat homestay with a fireplace usually ask three things: is it a real fire, who lights it, and until when. Short answers: real wood, Vinh lights it, 18:00 to 22:00. Strictly speaking it is a closed stove rather than an open fireplace: the flames stay behind glass.
Bed and bathroom
A 1.8 x 2.0 m king bed with one continuous mattress. Private bathroom with hot water. Two guests maximum; no extra bed.
What the stove does and does not do
The stove sits behind a glass door and vents outside through a flue. Every evening at 18:00 Vinh comes in, lights it and leaves one basket of dry wood for the night; the wood is included. Only staff light the stoves. You do not light it or feed it yourself; if it needs more before 22:00, call Vinh.
It warms the room, not the house, and the bathroom stays cooler than the window seat. After 22:00 no more wood goes in, the fire burns down and the room cools slowly until morning. December and January nights can drop to 10°C to 12°C, so the bed also has an electric blanket that Lan warms before you get in. The two work as a pair: the fire for the evening, the blanket for the night.
From the gate to the room
46 stone steps from the gate to the lounge, then 20 up to the first floor: 66 in all. Vinh carries the bags. No lift.
Bảo and Mai Anh
Mai Anh feels the cold and Bảo wanted a window where he could photograph the morning mist, so for their first wedding anniversary they chose Fireside. Friday 13 March to Sunday 15 March 2026, two nights in regular season: 1,940,000 VND x 2 = 3,880,000 VND. A 30% deposit of 1,164,000 VND once we confirmed, and 2,716,000 VND on arrival. Mai Anh liked that the total, the deposit deadline and the stove hours were all in the confirmation, so she did not have to message about each one.

Worth knowing
- The fire runs 18:00 to 22:00 only. If you want a fire all night, this is not it, and we would not recommend burning wood in a bedroom while everyone sleeps.
- There is a faint smell of wood in the room. If smoke bothers you, choose a room with an electric blanket and no stove.
- A stove plus a bath by the window: the Mist Suite. A family of four: the Garden House. Vinh’s guide to Dalat homestays with a fireplace covers wood versus electric and what to ask; for which months are cold, see Đà Lạt by season.
