Addresses in Đà Lạt after the 2025 merger: which ward your old one is now
Since 1 July 2025 Đà Lạt has five wards, Xuân Hương, Cam Ly, Lâm Viên, Xuân Trường and Lang Biang, in Lâm Đồng province. Old-to-new table, how to write them.

Since 1 July 2025, Đà Lạt has five wards (phường): Xuân Hương - Đà Lạt, Cam Ly - Đà Lạt, Lâm Viên - Đà Lạt, Xuân Trường - Đà Lạt and Lang Biang - Đà Lạt, all in Lâm Đồng province. There is no longer a “Đà Lạt city” level in addresses, and the numbered wards are gone. If you have an old address that says “Ward 10, Đà Lạt City” (Phường 10, TP. Đà Lạt), that is now Xuân Hương ward. The full old-to-new table for all twelve old wards is below.
Updated 6 October 2026. The tables come from Vietnamese Wikipedia (a secondary source, read 4 October 2026), with the numbers of the resolutions so you can check the original texts.
Written by Ngân, who answers the booking phone at Nhà Sương and reads addresses out every day to drivers, foreign guests and delivery riders. Nhà Sương is a homestay that sells rooms; this page uses our address as an example and otherwise sells nothing.
What changed in 2025
Three changes landed at once, which is why new addresses look odd:
- Districts were abolished. From 1 July 2025, local government in Vietnam has two levels: province, and commune or ward (Resolution 203/2025/QH15). Đà Lạt is no longer a district-level city.
- Provinces merged. Lâm Đồng merged with Đắk Nông and Bình Thuận under Resolution 202/2025/QH15. The new Lâm Đồng province has 124 commune-level units: 20 wards, 103 communes and 1 special zone. Đà Lạt is still the provincial capital.
- Wards merged. Under Resolution 1671/NQ-UBTVQH15 of 16 June 2025, Đà Lạt’s twelve numbered wards and some neighbouring communes and a town were combined into five wards. Each new ward name ends in “- Đà Lạt”.
The five new wards and what they used to be
| New ward | Made up of |
|---|---|
| Xuân Hương - Đà Lạt | Old Wards 1, 2, 3, 4 and 10 |
| Cam Ly - Đà Lạt | Old Wards 5 and 6, and Tà Nung commune |
| Lâm Viên - Đà Lạt | Old Wards 8, 9 and 12 |
| Xuân Trường - Đà Lạt | Old Ward 11, and Xuân Thọ, Xuân Trường and Trạm Hành communes |
| Lang Biang - Đà Lạt | Old Ward 7, Lạc Dương town and Lát commune |
One trap: “Xuân Trường” is both an old commune and a new ward. If someone says “Xuân Trường”, ask which one they mean.
Quick lookup: old ward to new ward
| Old ward | New ward |
|---|---|
| Ward 1 | Xuân Hương - Đà Lạt |
| Ward 2 | Xuân Hương - Đà Lạt |
| Ward 3 | Xuân Hương - Đà Lạt |
| Ward 4 | Xuân Hương - Đà Lạt |
| Ward 5 | Cam Ly - Đà Lạt |
| Ward 6 | Cam Ly - Đà Lạt |
| Ward 7 | Lang Biang - Đà Lạt |
| Ward 8 | Lâm Viên - Đà Lạt |
| Ward 9 | Lâm Viên - Đà Lạt |
| Ward 10 | Xuân Hương - Đà Lạt |
| Ward 11 | Xuân Trường - Đà Lạt |
| Ward 12 | Lâm Viên - Đà Lạt |
This table maps old administrative units only. It will not tell you which ward a given street is in; for that, you need to know which numbered ward the street used to belong to.
How to write a Đà Lạt address now
Order: house or alley number, street, new ward, province. No district, and no “Đà Lạt City” as a separate line. If the reader may still know the old name, add it in brackets.
Using our address as the example (the address of a demo site, made up):
- Old style: Hẻm 77 Hoàng Hoa Thám, Phường 10, TP. Đà Lạt, tỉnh Lâm Đồng.
- New style: Hẻm 77 Hoàng Hoa Thám, phường Xuân Hương - Đà Lạt, tỉnh Lâm Đồng.
- New style with the old name, easiest to find: Hẻm 77 Hoàng Hoa Thám, phường Xuân Hương - Đà Lạt (Phường 10 cũ), tỉnh Lâm Đồng.
In English we write it as “Alley 77, Hoàng Hoa Thám street, Xuân Hương ward (old Ward 10), Đà Lạt, Lâm Đồng province”. We use the third Vietnamese version on our location page and in booking confirmations, because guests and drivers still type “Phường 10”.
Three mistakes we often see in guests’ messages:
- “Xuân Hương ward, Đà Lạt City”: the city level no longer exists, and the ward name lacks “- Đà Lạt”.
- “Ward 10, Xuân Hương ward”: two wards side by side confuse the reader; put the old one in brackets.
- Changing the province because you assume the merged province has a new name: it is still Lâm Đồng.
Why maps and paperwork may still show old names
Signs, business cards, receipts and guidebooks printed before July 2025 carry the old ward names, and nobody reprints all of them. Map and ride-hailing apps update on their own schedules; we have not tested every app, so we will not say which ones have switched. The reliable approach when you book a car or look up a place:
- Type the house number and street first; leave the ward for later.
- If the app returns two results on the same street, pick the one whose old or new ward matches the table above.
- Save your host’s phone number so the driver can call if lost.
For Nhà Sương, type “Hoàng Hoa Thám” and call 0963 929 241 when you reach the mouth of the alley. Cars up to seven seats come through the alley to the gate; from the gate to the lounge it is 46 stone steps, and Vinh comes down for your bags.
From the airport: what to tell the driver
If you take a taxi from Liên Khương airport, give the street and the ward, with the old name: “Hoàng Hoa Thám, phường Xuân Hương, Phường 10 cũ”. If you would rather not deal with it, we run an airport pickup: 450,000 VND per car, up to four people and four suitcases, with Vinh holding a name board. Send us your flight number at least 12 hours ahead.
The closest room to the lounge for someone arriving with heavy bags is Thông Nhỏ (Little Pine), 12 steps from the lounge. A family of four may prefer Nhà Vườn (Garden House), with two bedrooms, 16 steps from the lounge.
For foreign guests and residents
At check-in each guest shows an ID card or passport, and Ngân registers your stay with the authorities using the house’s current address; you do not need to do this yourself. If your employer, school or visa agent needs your accommodation address for paperwork, message Ngân through the contact page and she will send it written the new way, in Vietnamese and in English.
